I joined the School of Education in 1988 to support the campus taught Hearing Impaired programme of study. During my second year administering that support I worked on setting up the Hearing Impaired Distance Education programme and supporting the HI team with administration and secretarial support until all Distance Education programmes were merged into the Distance Education Unit (now merged within CPD) in 1994.

In 1994 I took my experience and expertise and moved to work for John Visser on the Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties programme.

I spent from 2002 – 2005 supporting Undergraduate BA programmes and CPD programmes of study in the Student Service Office at Selly Oak.

Current Role

During the last 11 years I have supported John Visser as his personal secretary and Gary Thomas since he joined the School in 2005. Recently I have been allocated other academics to whom I give secretarial support.

During my time with the School I have served on the IT Committee, Workload Working Party, Stress Committee and represented support staff on School Committee. Currently I am a member of the Staff Development Team.
