Current work

I am currently working on a project, Learning and Teaching for Social Diversity and Difference, within the ESRC Teaching and Learning Research Programme. The project aims to explore the sociological, pedagogical and epistemological factors in students’ academic engagement, with particular reference to first year student diversity. It will do so by examining the conceptions students and teachers (both in schools, colleges and in universities) have of themselves, each other, and the learning environment. The project began in January 2006 and is due to finish in April 2008.
