Profile

With Chris Rhodes,  I am involved in the Educational Management and Leadership in the School of Education.

Research Interests

Specialises in School Marketing, School Financial Management and Project Management in Education.

Involved in two research projects; one funded by the University of Johannesburg on educational leadership in South Africa and the other on gender issues in school leadership in the Commonwealth – lead by Jacky Lumby (University of Southampton)

Teaching and administration responsibilities

Involved in the EdD leadership and management programme and an elective module for the Med programme offered by the CPD section. Supervising PhD students.

Serve on the editorial advisory board of:

• The Journal for In-service education based in the UK
• Economic and Management Sciences (Journal under the auspices of the Society for Teachers of the Economic Sciences)
• International Studies in Educational Administration (Guest editor for a 2002 issue of the Journal of the Commonwealth Council for Educational Administration and Management dedicated to Education Management in Africa)
• Journal of Research on Leadership Education (Journal of the University Council for Educational Administration, University of Missouri-Columbia, USA)

• 2004  - Admitted as member of the Suid-Afrikaanse Akademie vir Wetenskap en Kuns (South African Academy of Science and Art) -  LAkad(SA).
• 2006 - Admitted as a fellow of the Commonwealth Council for Educational Administration and Management – FCCEAM.
