Professor Ruth Watts (University of Birmingham)

Ruth Watts is Professor of History of Education, Head of Creative and Cultural Studies and co-convenor of the Knowledge, Culture and Diversity research group in the School of Education at the University of Birmingham. She is co-convenor of the Domus research centre. Her research interests are in the history of education and gender and she has published much on these. Her current research is on the social and cultural history of women in science. She is ex-President of the British History of Education Society, a long-standing active member of the International Standing Conference for the History of Education (ISCHE) and involved in various networks in history of education and women's history. She is on the editorial boards of History of Education and the Researcher.
