Recently completed studies:
- The development of a framework for the evaluation of short course provision for general dental practitioners (funded by the Department of Health).
- An evaluation of the pilot General Professional Training programme for new dental graduates in the West Midlands (funded by the Department of Health).
- An evaluation of the assessment of post-registration dental education (part of the Post-registration Medical and Dental Education Research Initiative).
Current research interests:
- The effect on patient care of continuing education: frameworks, barriers and opportunities (funded by the NHS National Primary Dental Care Research and Development Programme).
- A pilot study in the West Midlands of the CPD needs of non-UK trained general dental practitioners (funded by the Department of Health).
- Transferable career paths for dentists in the EU. A preliminary mapping (funded by the University of Birmingham).
- A summary of General Professional Training undertaken by recent dental graduates in the UK.
