Research Interests

My current research activity is in the continuing education of dentists and medics and the impact this has on their practice and ultimately on patient care. I am also interested in how postgraduate training is assessed, including the use of competence based approaches. More broadly, I am concerned with the development and use of best evidence in medical education. These are current interests. In the past a significant amount of my research activity has been in the field of educational management, including the use of resources in school. In addition, I have been involved in studies of health education and promotion.

In the future I would like to apply research findings related to the impact of continuing medical and dental education to other professional groups, including teachers.
