ALISON BULLOCK is a Reader in Medical and Dental Education at the School of Education, The University of Birmingham. Her main interest is in the impact of continuing education on the practice of health care professionals.
SARAH BURKE is a Research Fellow in the School of Education, The University of Birmingham. Her research interests include genetics education for non-geneticists, and the recruitment of GP registrars.
ROBERT COOPER is the Associate Postgraduate Dean (CPD and Public Health Medicine Training) and an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at The University of Birmingham.
IAN DAVISON is a Research Fellow in the School of Education, University of Birmingham. His research interests include quantitative analysis, and post-qualification GP training.
STEVE FIELD is Regional Postgraduate Dean for The University of Birmingham and West Midlands Deanery, and the General Practice Principal, Bellevue Medical Centre. He is also Honorary Professor of Medical Education at the University of Warwick, and Honorary Professor in the School of Medicine, University of Birmingham.
VICKIE FIRMSTONE is a Research Fellow in the School of Education, The University of Birmingham. Her current interests include the continuing professional development of general dental practitioners and health promotion for young people.
JOHN FRAME is the Postgraduate Dental Dean and Professor of Oral Surgery, School of Dentistry, The University of Birmingham. His research interests include the nature and role of continuing education in dentistry and applied biomaterials in oral surgery.
ZOE NUTTALL is Communications Manager at the West Midlands Deanery. She leads the organisation of the annual Birmingham Conference. Her interests include a wide range of issues related to postgraduate medical and dental education.
LIZ POTTS works in the Research Office at the School of Education, and is Secretary for the CRMDE activity there. She provides a first contact point for general enquiries about CRMDE and its work.
PETER SPURGEON is Professor of Health Services Management at the University of Birmingham, and Director of the International Institute for Clinical Leadership. His research interests include attitudes of doctors to management, and new Foundation programmes for junior doctors.
HYWEL THOMAS is a Professor of Economics of Education and was Head of the School of Education at The University of Birmingham up until August 2003. His interests in medical education are particularly focused in continuing professional development and, more widely, the potential of evidence based approaches in contributing to better practice.
DAVID WALL is a general practitioner in Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands. He is also deputy regional postgraduate dean for The University of Birmingham and West Midlands Deanery, and honorary Senior Lecturer in the School of Education, The University of Birmingham. His main interests in medical education are in curriculum studies, educational needs of GP non-principals and teaching the consultant teachers.
