Linked to UKCC and other governing bodies it aims to:

develop a research led approach to sports coaching and to provide professional development and a researching practitioner approach to sport.
develop students understanding and knowledge in the area of coaching, and to be able to critically evaluate new developments and insights in the area and demonstrate the ability to integrate this knowledge into practice.
develop students conceptual understanding of the theories behind practice in coaching through self-directed research, professional development and the enhancement of their own research skills within a professional and voluntary industry that is demanding higher and more focussed levels of skill.
