Programme Fees

The fees are specified in the description of the individual programmes.

If you are studying on a part-time programme that has a registration period of more than 12 months, the fees for the second year and the third year may rise with inflation.

When you accept the offer of a place, you also accept responsibility for the payment of your tuition fees, so even if you are sponsored or in receipt of an award, you must have sufficient funds available to you.

Unfortunately, if you fail to pay the fees, you will not be permitted to continue your studies.

Fees are payable either in full at the start of the programme or the semester in which they become due, or by installments. They must be paid in sterling by a cheque drawn on a UK branch of any bank, by direct debit or by international money order.

Some students may be required to pay additional costs associated with fieldwork or the use of materials and equipment during the research. The level of additional expense varies according to the programme of study, but as a general guide, where practical work or fieldwork is required, students should expect to have to meet a proportion of the costs themselves. Students should also expect to bear the costs of travel and materials where these are incurred in visits or projects undertaken on the student’s own initiative.

More information on finance is available from the University’s Finance Office website.
