International

The School of Education is a genuinely international place, with about 100 international research students and about 60 international postgraduate students at any one time.

The School houses the Centre for International Education and Research (CIER), which promotes research and teaching in the international arena.  International Students are well looked after, with support for study skills and English Language.  Popular programmes for international postgraduate students are the International Management and Policy programme, and the TEFL programme

Staff engage in a number of international research projects and have substantial international country expertise.  We have a range of partners across the globe, for example, the British University in Dubai, and the Asia-Pacific Centre for International Understanding , and we are an Associated School of UNESCO.  Staff of the school between them speak Bahasa Indonesia, Bulgarian, Danish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Japanese, Macedonian, Mandarin, Norwegian, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Serbian, Sinhala, Spanish, Swedish, Taiwanese, Turkish and Urdu.   

The University provides information and assistance to international students, including information about visa requirements.
